Scorpion is a prominent character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise. He is best known for his signature spear attack, which he uses to pull opponents closer, followed by the catchphrase "Get over here!".
The original Scorpion was Hanzo Hasashi, a ninja warrior from the Shirai Ryu clan. He was murdered along with his clan by Sub-Zero (Bi-Han) of the rival Lin Kuei clan. Scorpion was resurrected as a vengeful specter, fueled by rage and a desire for revenge against Sub-Zero.
Scorpion's first appearance was in the original Mortal Kombat game in 1992. He has since become one of the most recognizable and popular characters in the series, appearing in almost every installment and related media.
